Walking shirtless around town
Last summer, I was in the mood to take long walks for exercise. After I lost some weight and started to get in shape, I started taking my shirtless walks, but I always carried a shirt with me. One day, I invited a friend of mine to walk with me. We decided to go to a park very far from home, around 6 km (3.7 miles) away and come back. It was a very hot and sunny day. So I challenged myself: I would do the walk shirtless, without taking any backup shirt with me. For me it was a really challenge, because I was (still am) a little shy to go shirtless on street. It is an unusual place to go shirtless in my city cause there's no beach nearby and here is known to be a very cold city.
I was used to do my shirtless walk at the park near home, where it's normal seeing shirtless men walking or running. But at street it's not an usual thing to see here. Anyway, I decided that I would not take any shirt with me. My friend had a backpack and offered it to keep one shirt for me there. But I said no. I was pretty sure of what I wanted. So we left. We went out of the building, and I started to regret a little. At any moment I could decide turn back home to get a shirt. But I moved on. When we were 5 blocks away, I said to myself "That's it! Now there's no turn back and you WILL end this walk shirtless!" So, I stoped thinking about it.
We passed through some very busy streets. And meanwhile, I didn't see any other men shirtless. Sometimes I felt that everyone was looking at me, like I was a stranger or something. But I didn't care. I was enjoying the situation. After one and a half hour, we made it to the park. Only there I could see other shirtless men walking or running. I was not alone anymore. We decided to rest a little and buy some water. The shop did not accepted shirtless clients, so I had to wait outdoors. No problem, a shop with it's crazy rules wouldn't stop me. My friend bought the water and we sat somewhere on the grass to rest.
While we were resting, a friend of ours passed by with her dog and started talking to us. The first thing she said me was a joke related to me being shirtless. I laughed with her and just said something like "well, I like it". We were chatting for a long time there. At some point, she kind of invited us to have lunch at her house. It was just a block away. A fancy house. So I had to ask if it was okay if I go shirtless at her house. She asked "Why? Just put a shirt on and let's go!" and I said that I didn't bring any shirt with me. She didn't know what to answer. I think for her it would be okay, but her familly wouldn't like that much.
A few minutes later, we took our way back home. We got a different route, but still through busy places. As soon as we left the park, I was, again, the only crazy shirtless around. But I really didn't care! I was enjoying every single minute of having a bare chest, uncovered and feeling the wind passing through me. But I really didn't care! I was enjoying every single minute of having a bare chest, uncovered and feeling the wind passing through me. Not for only that, the feeling that I was to far from any shirt I had was awesome. I don't know how to describe it exactly, but I loved to do it.
