After spending pretty much 2 full days without a shirt on the weekend I thought I'd try my luck and see if I'd be let into a restaurant and served seated on a Sunday evening. It wasn't a fancy establishment just a mostly Quick Chinese food restaurant at a beach town, albiet a few streets from the beach.

I was able to. No question asked from the staff. But when some other patrons arrived they definitely had a stare. But I continued to have my meal. Two Guys were definitely whispering about me at their table. I kind of liked the attention though.

What do you guys think. Is this tacky? Should it be allowed?

Anyone else have similar stories?

Definitely not tacky as far as I'm concerned. Being shirtless should be allowed everywhere.

Not tacky, at all. It should be encouraged. I once went to an outdoor food establishment by the beach, and I was the only one eating my food bare chested. Doesn’t make sense why others weren’t enjoying this privilege, as well.

Never tried it indoors but did once in a restaurant. It was also by the beach and it was al fresco. Some guys were shirtless too.

@AAAmax That's great man. Probably less awkward at outside based beach restaurant but one shouldn't care I guess. Would be awesome if it was the normal to see shirtless guys on any establishment esp on warm nights.

@Ruralfitys If it's up to us, that wouldn't be a problem. But of course, establishments have their own rules.
