That was a GREAT dinner!!!

Okay, so I've completed a portion of the training at my new job and we all went out to dinner tonight.

You know the kind of dinner right? Everyone at the table knows that none of us are paying for dinner and only one person knows exactly how much we're allowed to spend and he slowly gets more and more nervous as the evening progresses. 🤣🤣🤣

Appetizers went with the servers suggestions because we were all too busy talking about the week to look at the menu.

Two plates ordered. Spicy hot but very nicely done and balanced. I liked.

I'm not generally a fan of tartares but I did try a little. It was okay.

What can I say... Manna from heaven!
This was a steak house, but really high end. If you're thinking Capital Grille or Morton's, then you're not thinking high enough. A filet was $75, the bone-in ribeye was $92. They even offered this like cave man thing that came from the kitchen on a hook, was seared at the table, then cut and served. It was $260. No, we didn't get that.

I chose the filet. Yes, I'm a cheap date.

The sides were all family style for the table. This one was ... amazing ... yes, I know I over use that word, but this time I really mean it.

[c=BF0000]"Sara's Plate" [/c]
As I said, I ordered the filet, medium rare (as the chef suggested). The mashed potatoes were from another of the family style sides. I had those and some of the truffle mac 'n cheese and I also had some asparagus.

Yes, we ordered dessert as well but I didn't get pics. I shared a "skillet chocolate chip cookie topped with vanilla ice cream. I think I had two bites.

Right now I'm so full I'm gonna need to run two marathons tomorrow!

That's what I did tonight. What did you do?

Not sure if Mac 'n Cheese goes with high end steak TBH.

Jealous AF

@KiwiBird Lol, I know, right!! But I guess the truffles elevate them. 🤷‍♀️

@sarabee1995 Truffles....pig food Right!!! 😂

Can't afford them.
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
@KiwiBird Honestly I probably would've preferred the mac 'n cheese without the truffles, but it was a good change. :)
@KiwiBird Had a very high end 7 cheese Mac and Cheese that was delicious. Was it worth the price…? probably not, but it was really good. 🤤

@DarkHeaven Yeah I have pretty simple tastes. "Elevating" Mac 'n Cheese is wasted on me.
@sarabee1995 this was pretty awesome. I’d eat it every time that way if I could get it reasonable. js

The Japanese A5 Wagyu Tomahawk is served at Aragawa in Tokyo and goes for $1,000 on the menu. You can get a meal there for as little as $440 per person, but it won’t include this Kobe Beef Wagyu specialty.

@KiwiBird Thank you. Yes, that's what I'm talking about. 🙂
@sarabee1995 I can’t imagine paying that much for food. I’ve only been to a super expensive restaurant, a couple of times and I wasn’t paying. I just always felt super nervous. Not my scene at all. But definitely an experience. 😊
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
@DarkHeaven I can't imagine paying that much either... And I didn't.

I think at restaurants like this, most of their checks on any given night are being paid by some company or agency.

I doubt there are enough individuals wealthy enough to keep these places in business.
@sarabee1995 that’s my guess too. Or people with big money… movie stars, musicians, and models (like real models that do high fashion, not my catalog bullshit. lol) And in even with that it may be the studio or labels.
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
@DarkHeaven I was just going to say that with those peeps, the bill would be paid through their "company" (studio, label, etc).
@sarabee1995 yup. and it’s not that those peeps can’t afford it, it’s just why? Unless it’s an anniversary or something really special like that.
