Can I be a nerd and not like Marvel or Game of Thrones?

I haven't seen Star Trek, Game of Thrones, or any of the Hobbit nor the third Lord of the Rings movie (I saw the first two but couldn't get into them). I have seen the first Harry Potter movie and part of the second but I haven't read any of the books or seen the other movies. I do enjoy Star Wars (I especially enjoyed Star Wars Legends mainly Old Republic era stuff), I read the mythology behind Mortal Kombat, and I love watching cut scenes a lot in video games. I also played Somic Adventure 2: Battle and watched the cutscenes and fantasized about there being movie adaptations of the two Sonic Adventure games. I even read Terminator Lore sometimes and recently I've developed an interest in the Independence Day franchise and plan to get their books. I haven't read the Alien books but I want to get them. My interests besides these things are Paleontology, Zoology, Astronomy, Geography, Trains, History, Space history, and music (mainly classic rock, classic heavy metal, alternative rock, classical, blues, film scores, some operas, and some ambient music such M83 and Sigur Ros). I also haven't gotten into Marvel but I have no problem with people who like it. I did see the first Spider-Man movie from 2002 and thought it was cool. Can I still be a nerd and like nerdy stuff.

@sighmeupforthat I haven't ever been to a Comic-con but I wouldn't mind going at least once. I would like to dress up as a Sith Lord from Star Wars or a Mortal Kombat Character. I would love to go to a Halloween party dressed up as a Star Wars or Mortal Kombat character.
