That interview was in 1984.
I think, given his pessimistic tone, that Besmenov would have thought it absolutely impossible that the Berlin wall would fall by the end of the decade, that all of the eastern European Soviet satellite nations would have abolished their Quisling communist governments, and that the Soviet Union itself would have collapsed by 1991.
