I actually like a couple of things a lot of people complain about. Let me count the ways.
1. I like cell phones. Yes, a lot of people are standing around with their noses stuck in their phones. This is good. Those people are using their minds and they are not causing any trouble. Kids with cell phones always have a way to call home for help and are never at the mercy of a pay phone. If someone looks like he/she wants to get violent with you, that violent streak can be ended quickly by pulling out a cell phone and making a movie of it. Yes, it looks annoying, but if you've been around a while, you have got to see the magic in having a TV studio that fits in your pocket. The public schools down here for the most part do not allow the kids to have their cell phones in class. In maybe ten years that could change, in that maybe all the lessons will be done through those phones, (kinda like those chromebooks and Google Classroom today.)
2. I like the self checkout lines at Walmart. Yes, they require I physically scan my own groceries and other items. But they get a lot of people checked out in very little time and it saves a lot of money. It doesn't bother me to do that job. I'm still amazed some people with large baskets of stuff will still wait in the regular checkout lines. Regular grocery stores are engaging those same checkout lines as well. Speeds things a long. Makes sense. It's progress. I can remember the original self serve gas stations in the early Seventies when Democrat polices caused gas prices to soar and a lot of stations decided to save money by not having to hire Goober or Gomer to pump gas. It's progress. I'm okay with that.
