Having sort of lived in such an area, in a loose way, for over a decade... #1.

Really isn't as easy as it might look.
@DeWayfarer It actually doesn’t look that easy. But then heights make me nervous.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@bijouxbroussard not the heights that is the problem. It's the flash flooding. Mountainous areas usually are full of such dangers.

@DeWayfarer But it goes together. I used to live in Pacifica, where the mudslides contributed to erosion and homes up on those hills were especially vulnerable.

@bijouxbroussard I know where Pacifica is !

Nothing there compares to the mountains. That image is very deceiving.

There was a six foot high culvert once there surrounded by solid concrete. It was just simply washed away, concrete and all! I could almost stand upright in it. I'm 6'2"
@DeWayfarer Okay, cliffs, then. I’m not looking for an argument. In Pacifica the combination of mudslides and height meant erosion of the cliffs on which many Bay view buildings were lost.

@bijouxbroussard I fell off the cliffs in La Jolla in my younger years. I exactly know where you are talking about.
@DeWayfarer La Jolla’s in San Diego.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@bijouxbroussard so is Pacifica Beach!
@DeWayfarer No, Pacifica is on the peninsula, in the Bay Area. San Mateo County. I lived there for about three years.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@bijouxbroussard then there's two Pacifica beaches! It's just South of the city of San Diego. I went to high school my senior year in San Diego county.
@DeWayfarer I’m not familiar with San Diego so I looked it up. Pacifica Beach is a neighborhood there. But the city of Pacifica is up here.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@bijouxbroussard oh ! City of Pacifica. When you just said Pacifica I thought you meant the beach.

There are cliffs there that have fallen.
@DeWayfarer But I said Pacifica.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@bijouxbroussard locals there call it Pacifica. Please bare in mind that was in 1977. Not even swami's Beach was officially called that then.
@DeWayfarer But the city is called Pacifica. I said what I meant.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@bijouxbroussard I know you said what you meant. Yet I didn't see "city" in that.
