After all the huffing and puffing from the east, President Biden made it to Kyiv before President Putin did. That must sting a bit, if you are sitting in the Kremlin. Putin will spin it to his own advantage, for his domestic and other audiences. See! Told you so! I am fighting to protect Mother Russia from American aggression!
And some will believe him.
We, of course, know better...
Anyway, a last night out here in the field. This is just acclimatising, learning how to survive when you are tired, cold, wet. And how to function. We have intel that the enemy may try to bypass our position under cover of darkness, isolate us. We don't have to fight them, just spot them and call in artillery. Hope the strike hits them, not us.
So, high alert. Another uncomfortable, restless night. And tomorrow, back to base camp.
