I should probably date this entry for 15 January, as it is just after midnight. I am in the bunker, in the mess, drinking a shit coffee. The worst in the army! Bad as it is, I can't believe that.
Whatever... I have just come off duty and I am here on standby overnight.
A strange day with the team, a bit strained. They know something is going on, may even suspect that I am leaving, but they will not ask. They know it is not their place to ask.
Everyone was a little more on edge, with the renewed missile strikes this morning. We have been expecting them but it's not that simple. If it is every day or night, you know it will happen and you come to accept it, somehow. When it stops for a few days, one part of your brain adjusts to that new normal, while another part is in constant anxiety about when it will start again. It is almost a relief when it happens, the anxiety is gone.
Ok, I must try to get some rest. I may add some more later.
