You are paying. The lawyers will collect from the US government.

They are getting tiresome.
DrWatson · 70-79, M
I'm guessing it's the law firm that's paying for it, hoping to recoup their expenses by winning a huge settlement.

@DrWatson The people will get a small pittance at this rate. That’s how class cation lawsuits go isn’t it?
DrWatson · 70-79, M
@cherokeepatti I have no idea what the fraction is. I sued someone once, and I was actually very impressed with the law firm I went through. They kept 1/3 plus expenses (which were far less than $100, mainly for duplicating and postage) and I kept the rest. I did not have to pay any "lawyer's fee".

Of course, "expenses" run a lot higher if you are taking out TV ads. And the amount awarded has to be split among all the plaintiffs.

Every law firm/ambulance chaser out there is hopping on the band wagon because the government admitted fault. So the payout will be huge for the lawyers but for members of the class action suit it will be about 12 dollars.

Im tired of seeing those commercials on Tv.....they drive me nuts!!
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Indy74 If they didn’t have enough people stepping forward several months agomthey need to give it up or go ahead and file their case.
Indy74 · 46-50, F
@cherokeepatti they have been doing this for months now.....quit already.....money hungry attorneys.....
MarineBob · 56-60, M
Sad part is the lawyers are getting a 1/3 plus expenses of the veteran settlement
Ambulance chasers. Love how they set it up like a telethon. 🤣
