Thermal curtains

I just found out about these today... they apparently have a special lining and are made of heavier materials to keep cold out. My windows are really draughty so I'm thinking of getting a pair. Does anyone else have these, are they any good? Do they make a difference in keeping the room warm?

@Justenjoyit since you mentioned it, if you can do it where you live (some apartments have restrictions in the rental agreement) you can cut bubble wrap to fit your windows and use a little Scotch tape at the corners to tape it the glass. Lets some light in but helps insulate at the same time. I got this one from a student living in an apartment.
