Do You Leave Dirty Dishes In the Sink

So there would be no discussion as to whos turn it was to do the dirty dishes.
I instructed my son in his pre-teens as follows:

The Two Utensil Rule

*Anytime you find two pieces in the sink you wash.
One could be a glass, fork, etc.,left by another..
*And if you find that your always the one doing the dishes, all it means is that your always in the kitchen eating something.

When he came to visit me,now in his late twenties he stll remembers that rule.

😂😂😂 That is so brilliant. I wish I had thought of that years ago.

I have a magic table, I eat, I leave the table and go have a beer and when I come back, the table is clear and the dishes are either in the drain or back in the cabinet. It reminds me of that cartoon with Mickey Mouse as a wizards apprentice, it is magic. If I spill something and go to the garage, when I come back the spill is cleaned up. It is great.
Why didn't you have him wash the dishes that he dirtied? That's how it was when I lived with my grandma and uncle and cousin, We all washed our own dishes. But to answer your question, yes. We don't have a dishwasher.
Most of the week (Sat night till Thursday evening) it's just my wife and myself so we usually leave stuff and wash up at the end of the day
