Modern Luxuries or Modern Misery?

Does anyone else feel like modern technology is ruining our lives? Taking us further away from our true selves everyday? We spend most of our time worrying stressing about modern life for what reason? Then to distract ourselves from the stress of it all we stare blankly at our mobile devices and scroll endlessly through social media wasting what precious time we have on this planet…
I wish I could just claim some land build a house and live primitively and self sufficient for the rest of my days…Would be a much more fulfilling life in my eyes.

We escape a lot of what made us miserable in the past with modern technology, but the balance between happiness and misery always balances itself out. Nothing in existence is all good or all bad. That being said, I'd prefer a less luxurious life in favor of a more simple one, even if it's a return to past miseries
