Anyone else here obsessed with the "Off-grid" Lifestyle...Especially during times like these?

I have been watching hours of videos and reading countless articles on pretty much every aspect of "Off-grid" life, how much it costs, how long it takes, how to actually do any of the mechanical/electrical engineering and carpentry etc...Man if land wasn't so expensive I'd have a field day

i mean it'd be neat to have a self-powered house & a supply of rice & beans, but going completely off-grid would get boring fast imo.
@BlueVeins Each to their own I guess, this high-tech, social media driven, ego-manic society we're currently living in is exceptionally boring to me, I used to be addicted to gaming, I spent 8-12+ hours a day playing video games for the last 15 years straight, constantly binged YouTube and movie streaming sites in my down time, and spent countless hours scrolling through social media...I couldn't even think of doing anything else because that's all I could be bothered to do, everything else was a chore and made me hate my life very quickly :') But the last few years, after some soul searching and new revelations about myself I don't even play video games anymore, this is my first time on a social media website in about 2 years.

It's like I was awakened from this matrix style life, where social media, games, youtube and all the other big tech ideals are designed to draw you in and keep you hooked, I wonder how much of our lives we spend wasting our time doing pointless things that we think "makes us happy" but in reality it's draining us of our connection with nature, removing our ability to get "hands on" and fix/make/do things with our own two hands.

A few years ago I couldn't even think about not playing games, spending all my time on Social media and binging films, that's all life was to me, they were my source of happiness but now give me a hut in a forest somewhere, some tools, (I absolutely hated reading books too, they would bore me to death within seconds) books and some land to grow food and I am set.

I'm not obsessing just started being interested in the topic because I have more time to watch Youtube then I had before. Digital nomadism is what interests me even more.
