Ran into one of my best friends from middle school to beyond high school.

…she had no clue who I was 😕. I get it since we haven’t seen each other since we were maybe 19 or 20 and I look nothing like past me, but it still stung a bit. Maybe my younger years were just all in my head.

Dont it take it personal probably just need to jog her memory. ♡
@PerfectionOfTheHeart

Sorta wish our good times would have stuck with her more

Yes. But it sounds as though YOU have cherished those "good times" and kept them alive in your heart and mind.

@SomeMichGuy Someone has to 😌
@PerfectionOfTheHeart I'm glad you do--after all, you are the one who said "our good times"... 😊

Eh, don't let it worry you. Some people simply aren't good with recognizing names and/or faces. It's just not their strong suit. 🤷🏼‍♀

@LadyBronte This is true. Thank you for that reminder.

I had a similar experience! I had a friend (not a best friend but we were definitely friends). Her name was Yvonne and I called her Vonny. She has a nickname for me too. Anyways, I saw her 15 years after we graduated highschool and I went up to say hi. I was so happy to see her. She had no idea who I was.

@Jenny1234 Crazy isn’t it? It’s…I don’t know. Could insert several words or phrases there but still feel like none of them would truly capture the feeling of being forgotten like that. I’m left shrugging at this point. What can ya do 🤷🏻‍♀

Aw that’s a little heartbreaking. I think it’s natural to hope the memories we cherish cherish us back. I’m sad for her too. Life must be harder when you don’t have the capacity to hold the good things in your heart. 💕

@JustNik My thoughts as well 😔

Sadly, some people start slipping much earlier than others. Sounds like you're the better off between the two of you.

Still, I'd feel a lil sad about it too. Don't let her bad luck cloud your memories.
you look 25 to me

Has happened to me. Along with seeing teachers that I had in high school
Hey, don't let someone else's misperceptions hurt you.

@SomeMichGuy My heart is safe 🙂

I greeted the assistant commisioner of my agency at last year's holiday party. We all have worked from home since the pandemic. Before his current job, he was in charge of my program, and knew me well then.

Yet last year, he did not remember me.

But it happens.

If I have not spoken to somebody on here in over a year, I often forget them.

She was jealous. You probably look better now. And better than her !!

I don't even remember most people I knew back then and most of the ones I care about are either locked up or dead
