@SW-User me too, well been in jail many times but luckily always as someone with the keys on their belt not inside the cells

@OldBrit i never knew that about you, that you were a jailer. jail house rocker ;)

@SW-User I worked at a voluntary transition support worker for a charity that worked with addicts in jail.

I used to go into meet up to 2 months before release meet them on release often and help support them in first few months out.

@OldBrit
that really was such a wonderful thing you did for others who were struggling. that's the kind of support that has a ripple effect into the future for them, their families and the community. good on you ♥️

@SW-User meeting one of the guys tonight.

Sadly he ended up breaking licence and returned to prison. Came out again about 6 months ago, up and down but recently he asked me to sponsor him he is trying to stay sober and free.

@Fran63 is another I met through that again as we'd been friends as teenagers. He came out after 23 years inside that's remarkably tough.

@OldBrit so it's an ongoing commitment, and that's how sobriety goes... it needs supporting over a lifetime. you're an angel on earth, and that's where we need them.

@SW-User now I just do it as part of AA not through the charity or the actual services in the prisons.

@OldBrit just as good, imo ☺️
