A Pinky Finger
by: Rob Paquin
Take your little finger
and wrap me right around it
Tear my heart wide open
Just to tell me that you've found it
And from the distance listen
But hear only what you need to
Assume the worst of every verse
That my soul just bleeds through
See me in the sunshine
And send me tears inside the rain
Find me dancing wildly
As I cry inside my pain
Down the forest trails in darkness
I stumble, fall and crawl
Still moving in a forward motion
And climbing over walls
The space between us flexing
Shrinking as it grows
Twisting through my guessing
And I wonder what I know
Hoping for the blessings
Hoping that you'll linger
Hoping that you wrap me 'round
Your tiny little finger
