It isn't difficult to find the kind of land you are speaking of.

@Jericho I know. Which makes it that much more appealing. It wouldn't be expensive to do. The main problem is that I don't yet have the skills required to live independently from the rest of society. At least until my anger outweighs my laziness.

Okay. So why not find something that is not so far out of society? It is easy to find land that is 100+ acres and still be within a half hour of civilization and supplies. As you learn more and mmore you can purchase less and less supplies.

@Jericho Yeah, I suppose you're right. Baby steps.

Have you ever read the Foxfire series? They are books that teaches you how to live off the land... hunting, to growing crops. I am 62, I have felt like you since I was your age. My husband and I bought us 120 acres in the woods, with a creek that runs through our land. It is very awarding to … do for oneself. But it does take a certain kind of person to be able to live away from society. Oh.. we live 15 miles from a town and it takes 35 to 40 minutes to get there due to the winding, twisting roads. Too perfect!

I will be a hermit with you if you want to share a tropical island so we would have an endless supply of fish bananas and coconuts.

@Shannon27 You had me right up until fish. Bleh. lol

@Madhatter ok you don't have to eat the fish.
