I'm having a real problem with my opthamologist and terribly upset. I need someone who can give me advice on this. Any attorneys here?

I went to the ophthalmologist yesterday and I don't feel he was fair with me. He didn't ask me whether I'm not I wanted cataract surgery. He just right away gave me an appointment for surgery. By the way, I DID pass my eye exam at the DMV and drive fine, but this "doctor" said I shouldn't even be driving! He was very pushy and talked to me like I was a 3-year-old, which I certainly didn't appreciate! Legally, I feel it is my right to refuse cataract surgery and I definitely feel it's up to me to decide whether I want cataract surgery or not, and I should not be denied a prescription to get regular glasses. I'm not walking around half blind! He refused to give me a prescription to increase the strength of my glasses, which is all I feel I need. I called back up to get a prescription and told them I'm not ready for cataract surgery and would consider it next year but the receptionist told me that he cannot give me a prescription for eyeglasses because that would cause a liability on himself. But I feel this is my choice, not his! Where is the right of the patient? The FTC says that I have the right to get a prescription right after my exam but the receptionist said no that does not apply because it's to the point where I must have cataract surgery, but I highly disagree because without my glasses, I can see in the distance perfectly, but I just need a bigger strength for reading. I feel like he violated my rights to choose whether or not I'm ready for surgery. I can't get glasses anywhere without a prescription and why should I be forced to have cataract surgery when I'm not ready for it? Now I don't know what to do and I'm terribly upset. Any advice would be appreciated. And please, please don't tell me how easy cataract surgery is and that it's a breeze. That's not the point! I am not ready for surgery right now and I shouldn't be forced to have it, but they won't even give me a prescription to increase the strength of my glasses. This is outrageous in my book. What can be done? Who is an attorney on this site where I can get some advice?

I too, need to be scheduled for cataract surgery, but first, I had to see the the dr who checks my retinas, then I have to see the dr who is going to remove some small cysts from under my bottom eyebrow. Then I can schedule my cataract surgery. At this rate, it will be late Dec or January before it's all done and over with and it's not anything that I am looking forward to.
Unless you are seeing overlapping images when you look at something in the distance, I'd say you could wait on the surgery. You did pass your drivers eye test, so your eyes can't be that bad.
I'd definitely would get a second opinion and do try an optometrist this time. I have found that the ones at Walmart vision center are not bad and less expensive too.
@IM5688 I really feel for you. That's just it, guess what I found out. Medicare patients undergo unnecessary testing before cataract surgery is what the studies found. Medicare patients who have cataract surgery undergo unnecessary routine pre-operative testing, despite strong evidence that these tests are usually not beneficial nor increase national health. This is the way doctors make more money off of Medicare. And it burns me up. That additional preoperative testing makes absolutely no difference in the success of cataract surgery so it should not be forced on us.
@IM5688 I'm not having cataract surgery. I'm going to get rid of my cataracts completely and I know how to do that and I'm sure it will get rid of those because I did my research and I have used castor oil in my eyes before and it cleared them right up. I had just gotten lazy and quit using it but castor oil gets rid of cataracts and I'm also using an eye drop that gets rid of cataracts and then I'll get my glasses and my test will come out great. I am not having unnecessary cataract surgery and they are not going to pinhole me.

@LadyGrace I never heard of using castor oil in your eyes. Please tell me more. I'd really hate to go for the surgery. I don't really trust the medical profession any more. also, what drops do you use?
@IM5688 you absolutely can heal your eyes with castor oil and special drops. I will PM you and give you all the information so you won't have to go through that surgery my friend. It will work and you will see it!
@IM5688 practically all my life I have used holistic medicine, naturopathic, homeopathic whatever you want to call it, all of them to heal whatever was wrong with me and I saved my life doing that. People think those things don't work but they're very wrong. God gave us natural remedies to heal our bodies. I even cured my kidney stones with natural medicine. Dissolved them. The doctor said it would take months but it only took me about 2 weeks. They were shocked. I told them that God told me what to take and he did.

@ScarletWitch So, you put the castor oil on the outside of your eyelids?
@IM5688 you can put it on the outside or the inside. I put castor oil in my eyes before and I know it's safe or I wouldn't have even attempted it because I researched it thoroughly before I did it. I personally think it works better when you put it in the eye.
@IM5688 NO!!! DO NOT PUT JUST "ANY" CASTOR OIL in your eyes!!! It must be 100% Organic Cold-pressed in a glass container!!
@ScarletWitch please be careful what you tell people. You cannot put just regular castor oil on your eyes. It has to be 100% organic, cold pressed castor oil in a glass container. I personally feel for cataracts it works way way better if you put it in your eyes and I've done that before it does not hurt the eyes. I thoroughly researched it before I did it years ago or I wouldn't have attempted it. People use that to get rid of cataracts.
@ScarletWitch it may be your diet that's messing you up honey. Give me a minute and I'll get all my information and get back with you. ❤🤗
@ScarletWitch You really need digestive enzymes, as they help break down your food while probiotics support the health of the gut microbiome. Their relationship can rightly be called complementary. Both can support your body in combating bloating, supporting digestion, and strengthening the immune system. Taking them together may maximize their impact. Take a good PREbiotic AND PRObiotic combination capsule.

I also take a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar with powdered Stevia in it which tastes really good but I hate the liquid Stevia but the powdered Stevia is very good and that will help with your gut health. I take it first thing in the morning.

Foods that contain the most natural digestive enzymes include pineapples, papayas, mangoes, honey, bananas, avocados, kefir, sauerkraut, kimchi, miso, kiwifruit and ginger. Adding any of these foods to your diet may help promote digestion and better gut health. Ginger is very important. I get my Ginger from holistic herbal solutions at www.holisherb.com GINGER ROOT CAPSULES 300 capsules at 550 mg per capsule. I take it with a meal. Also garlic is good for you but make sure you get the good garlic. I take Kyolic Aged Garlic Extract. Very important.

They are odorless, 300 capsules. 2 X a day with meal. www.kyolic.com

Don't eat greasy Foods. It's okay to cook with butter or olive oil. I'll be sending you more things to help but I find that the apple cider vinegar helps with gerds. But I cannot stress enough that you need your digestive enzymes are your gut will really get messed up. I found that out the hard way.
