What Are Your Experiences...

... With anxiety?

I have been having a weird gambit of symptoms since early July and my primary RN and an urgent care RN both recommended behavioral health and anxiety meds. Just want to make sure that is going on.

I have had panic attacks before in the past but this feels and is manifesting different.

Edit : There are stressors in my life and I have been feeling "normal" anxiety and depression.

What are the weird symptoms you're having?
Concerning that they ask you to take meds, but not see a therapist...

@Cassieeeee they recommended both but insisted it was purely a mental health issue.

To use today as an example:

10 minutes into shift chest tightens, harder to breath, feeling of impending doom, head twitches, nerves burning feeling in face and hands, sinking feeling...

After 30 minutes, diarrhea and heartburn kick in hard...

Now 5 hours later all I feel is after burn in throat, fatigue, nerve burn, hard to focus, and random muscle spasms.

Breathing Exercises don't work for these types of episodes. I just take an antacid and have to wait thru it.

@Samek It does sound like a panic attack or anxiety attack, some of the symptoms could be hyperventilation syndrome. Did anything trigger it?

But even if it is, they should always check to see if the symptoms might be something else.. And if antacid helps relieve your symptoms, they should make sure it's not an ulcer. Not that I think it's an ulcer, but they should still check that and your heart since you're having chest pains, before they label it anxiety.

@Cassieeeee they did do an EKG and it was alright. Antacid is hit and miss.

My store is going thru liquidation and a coworker was complaining about the liquidator and then symptoms hit. :/

I'm also wondering if my nicotine vape could be causing the symptoms.

Either way, thank you for your insight.

@Samek to me that sounds like a panic attack except for the heartburn though

@Beautyinbroken thank you for your input, friend.

@Samek also with the meds just a heads up normally they take 3 weeks to actually start working and they have always made my symptoms worse before they got better I just had to ride it out -hugs-
@Beautyinbroken I'm on lorazepam, it's near instataneous effective.

You might check the Face Book IBS groups. Anxiety is a pretty common GI tract/bowel irritant, and there are but few things that inhibit social interaction more than the threat of a diarrhea attack. Some foods predispose one to diarrhea attacks, and if the size of the probiotics displays at COSTCO are an indication, IBS is a pretty common issue.
