Is this normal?

I've noticed that my body's response to stress is getting worse with time. Previously when I used to be stressed, I could still sleep for some hours at night and never had continuous heart palpitations. Now since I'm 36, I've noticed that even a small stressful thing keeps me awake ALL night and I only get an hour's sleep in the morning, plus continuous heart palpitations throughout the day and night. How can I control this?

It is somewhat normal for people under stress to experience panic attacks, insomnia, heart palpitations and even chest pain. Probably best to check with your pcp though. It could be anxiety disorder. I have anxiety disorder, and stressful events trigger all kinds of symptoms for me.

@SW-User Have you found a cure for your anxiety disorder?

@Girlygirl I don't think anyone knows of an absolute cure. There are meds you can take for it, plus various kinds of therapy. What works for me, may not work for you. I use CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and have had some help from counselors and pyschologists.
