Do You Think, This Is A Life Changing Poem?

I do, and it was for me, many years ago. It's my all-time favorite. I strive so hard to fulfill this level of consciousness, only to fail repeatedly, but I honor the premise and driven, to become 'this man'. 😔

Any thoughts? How does this poem, affect you?

I think the guy overthinks too much and that causes problems. Haha

What I know is we have control over our own minds and we don't have to allow people or things to do ANYTHING we don't want to do. The biggest problem is that people do not live in the moment, in the now. They are not "present" for themselves and therefore have their minds buried in the dead past, which only brings heartache and regrets. Not the way we're supposed to live.

Every time we are not present for our own selves, we are wasting time and life. We were not meant to dwell in the past. It is dead and it is gone and it cannot be changed. But we can change our future. We must learn to live in the moment. Usually nothing in the moment is hurting us unless we have our mind again on the dead past. We're not going that way, so we need to learn to let go.

Every time we have one of these setbacks, they do tend to make us stronger, in that they help us see where we need improvement and where we need to go, so that is good. They're not there to hurt us, but to keep us on our toes, on the right track, so we can and do, become even stronger and more resilient, because God gave us, and made us, to be more resilient than we ever realized we could.

Its very possible to live such a life . Both Mother Teresa , and Nelson Mandela come immediately to mind .

If you ignore the nonsense on SW,
And shun the DMs that the pervs will send,
If you do not let all the smut here trouble you,
You have the makings of a true-blue friend.

This really spoke to me, the part where keeping your mind when everyone is losing theirs and blaming you...That's exactly what I've been facing!!!! I've tried saving them all, but not one was saved, and they blame me for it all now!!!! It's crazy! Everyone is responsible for their own... No one human can truly save, trust me I've tried! only God can!

Yes, I do, but it's almost too Stoic for me, where one distances themselves from humanity and emotions for the strength they hold within themselves, only for themselves. If people could live that way, it would be changing, but alas we don't thrive that way.

I am holding on….with nothing in me….but the will to carry on…and worn out tools to rebuild a life. I read this poem long ago. A copy of it hangs above my desk, to remind me to carry on.
