What is the meaning of life?

I graduated from a 2 yr. college in 1989 thinking that would help me get a decent job, it didn't for the past 33 years I have fought tooth and nail to keep different jobs I have had, but to no avail. Got interested in prepping and survival because I thought if I ever became homeless, I would have those skills to fall back on, but I have come to realize all this prepping and survival stuff is just hype. I turn 58 in a couple weeks and it's really bringing me down. I don't know where to go from here.

I do, however, have one promising hobby, and that is learning biblical greek. You see, I love to help people if and when I can. I guess with a skill like this in my toolbox, I can hopefully open people's eyes to what the bible REALLY has to say and not some translation.

This is a rather long lonesome road I am on and could really use some encouragement. Thank you.

Life does seem to get to a point where we have pretty much experienced everything that we are going to.

I do not know what your past was like but if it is typical -

We go through the first half of life living for everyone else. School, work, raise family, try to keep up with the Jones's, try to pretend life is perfect...

So the second half of our lives should be devoted to living the way WE want. Not living by someone else's rules, not taking on more responsibility,

The best we can do is enjoy our freedom once we are over 40 and probably do not have many options for some "ideal future" anyways.

Plus at our age the world doesn't give us as much crap, we are mostly left alone so why not enjoy the peace and quiet?
