I Am Not Where I Wanted to Be At This Age

I was never as popular or pretty as my stepsister. There is no doubt about that. She is petite and pretty. I am glad she was able to find a wonderful husband and got married, and, later, gave my parents grandchildren.

Sure, I would have loved to follow suit. I also learned at an early age to value my independence more than marry the first man that came along. So I am still single but content with my status.

My brothers (both younger than me) were desperate to get married. Each got married and had one child apiece. The second generation (my niece) is now married.

I have come to accept my life as it is. Someday soon, I will publish a book and be happy with being remembered in that fashion. My siblings had their way of being remembered. I have chosen mine, which is best for me.

Well, nothing bad with having some cool water (tears) in your kitchen if it will get that hot over there ;) ;) ;) @MaryJanine

It was 91 over here yesterday (Sunday) und I don't know if you heard about the alligator somebody dumped into the Humboldt Park Lagoon. We are trying to get it out und it won't come out.
No I didn´t hear about that Story, but hopefully for the Alligator, no one will hunt him. @MaryJanine

@RobinPhoenix They are trying to trap him alive so he can be examined for diseases und then released into the wild. It's against the law, but they think someone got it as a pet, then it got too big und hard to feed, und they dumped it.
Those are idiots who did that to him. I wonder if the Alligator will be able to survive by himself when he will be released into the wild. Maybe he isn´used to hunting his food by himself. @MaryJanine

@RobinPhoenix He probably eats seaweed und slow-moving fishes, not to mention various plants. Wherever he ist in that lagoon, he ist content...probably dug into the mud somewhere.
Hopefully he will be caught by the right persons @MaryJanine

@RobinPhoenix You might like to know - they GOT HIM! He was on the noon news und he's about the size of a half-grown dog. He was hiding in the lily pads on the other side of the pool und they got him about 1:30 this Morgen. He ist safe und, once they check him out, he will be offered to the zoos around the country (we have two here in Chicago).
Wow! Those are really great News, @MaryJanine thanks for telling me :*
