Sun Dried Clothes

Anyone remember when clothesline were the norm.

Didn't need fabric softener

Clothes was soft and fresh smelling after sun drying, being whipped backwards and forwards in the wind. And almost wrinkle free.

They still are in our family. But I'm not sure what you mean. 😅 Sun dried clothes and bed sheets are as hard as a stone slab. The delicates always go to the shade for this reason.

Maybe you get different sun rays, all of our clothes were soft and almost wrinkle free. Then maybe it's the material you use if you're still do it these days, back then everything was pure cotton, no blending or mixture of fabrics synthetic or otherwise.

@Charity It's problem mostly with towels but also cotton bed sheets and T-shirts. Synthetic materials like lycra or viscose never get hard. Wrinkle free yes but not soft, at least not immediately, more like stiff.
Also, synthetic elastic materials shouldn't be exposed to strong direct sunlight because they might lose elasticity.

@CrazyMusicLover The days that I was speaking of there was no blending of fabrics everything was 100% pure cotton.

All of our towels were soft, our sheets was soft, our clothes were soft that we hung on the line, except for those that we put starch and fabric softener hadn't been invented.

Maybe it's the process used to make fabrics these days, the process has significantly changed with the technology of today.
