Nostalgia home delivery Blocks of Ice

[media=https://youtu.be/Fuz5i7zttas?si=UR22u4KCXZi3mFsm]

Not that long ago there was no refrigeration. We had what we referred to as Iceman they would deliver ice to the stores and to homes daily. That's where the term ice box came in, a specific box/appliance made to keep the blocks of ice from melting fast and cooling the necessities. ((Almost every home had a ice pick, then came the ice trays, now ice dispensers))

Then came the refrigerators, which had a freezer approximately 12x18 inches. Then the freezers, specifically for freezing, they were huge back then and you could put plenty of meat or whatever inside.

Hats off to the Icemen of yesteryear

I just missed ice delivery. But until I was about 6 years old we still had a milkman. Some people say I resemble him.
