do you ever feel sad with nostalgia

like if you hear an old tune from in the day, like when i hear old forgotten tracks from the the 80s and early 90s, it makes me think of people i knew back then, girls i knew...that i lost touch with....and i feel sad about the things that '' could have been'' but never worked out...and i also feel an overwhelming feeling of nostalgia and i feel sad....as times have changed now and i lost contact with those girls i knew...god knows where they are now...they're probablly married or have kids and partnered up.

how do you cope with these feelings?

I was engaged at Uni, with someone for 2 years. It ended abruptly, mainly I thought because her father did not like me going there, and we were at different unis in the last you.

With the INTERNET emerged social media. We discovered we were on the same site.

I asked if we should contact. She wrote yes, and sent me a long email.

She had married within a year one of her university lecturers, seeing him whilst I was away.

This just left me cold.
I have the nostalgia thing going on too. I don't like where things are headed these days! The 90's were a simpler time for me. I miss it. I still have the same best friend from school, but I dont keep in touch with anyone else. I prefer quality over quantity. Refuse to become a facebookie...I despise fb lol

Yes I do all the time. I sit back and think and cry. That’s the only way I can cry

Yes. When I was in the late 90s early 00s I was in the prime of my youth and beauty and didn’t know it. I made a LOT of money and had no cares. I was healthy, my whole family was alive and well. I’ve lost my parents since then. Not that life is bad now. I mean I was pretty stupid like most people are when they are young afterall and I’m wiser now…. But I think I would have enjoyed it more if I could go back.

I feel this way all the time, but the feelings go away.
Nothing can invoke sweet old memories quite like music.
