Some old photos have got me revisiting my 80s childhood on RAF bases all over Britain.

Running around in bare feet trying to catch grass hoppers, making daisy chains, playing kerbie or bulldogs or kiss chase, making a den, airshows and barbecues, icream vans and elastic band street wars…and going home because the street lights are coming on.

I can still smell the hot chilli gobstoppers

I remember my brother and jumped on our bikes and disappeared for the day miles we went. Over to old deer park in Richmond

@helenS we had thise little pouches with the inner tube repair kit and would sort any reluctance in the tyre parts to us having fun
