Some old photos have got me revisiting my 80s childhood on RAF bases all over Britain.

Running around in bare feet trying to catch grass hoppers, making daisy chains, playing kerbie or bulldogs or kiss chase, making a den, airshows and barbecues, icream vans and elastic band street wars…and going home because the street lights are coming on.

I can still smell the hot chilli gobstoppers

At the other end of the scale, you reach the age in life when most of the movie stars of your childhood are either no longer making movies or dead. Most of the adults that you knew as a child are dead. Then soon enough it's most of your friends and then it's you. The circle of life, I guess. You get to watch everything fade into dust like Infinity War until it's your turn.
