Certainly the best dance scene ever - even though Holden couldn't dance worth s**t. He admitted as much himself.

@RenFur That was one smoldering scene with Kim Novak in that pretty pink dress and William Holden in his suit wasn’t it? He wasn’t even muscled up much like modern actors yet there was a chemistry there you don’t see that often in movies today.

@cherokeepatti Yes, yes, and yes.
One of my favorite movies. Can list 7 , 8 or more actors off the top of my head. All in top form.

@RenFur they had a good lineup of actors and actors and good character development too.

@RenFur The movie was produced in 1955 but it reminded me of the small towns where I grew up. They were still like that in the early 60’s, slow to change.

@cherokeepatti Yes. It captured that feeling.
It's still an old movie - - by that I mean, some of the dialogue. Arthur O'Connell starts a few sentences with "Say" as in "Say, what are you up to?"

@RenFur apparently Holden got really drunk before shooting that scene because he was really nervous about doing it
