I Have Nostalgia For The Past

It’s too bad real life isn’t more like a late-60s/early-70s sitcom - like the Brady Bunch. The early 70s were a great time. I was a little girl. Life was simpler. There were more reasons for optimism. All week I’ve been thinking about my early childhood, and thinking maybe that really was the best part of my life.

I remember there was a sense of optimism then. Maybe it was the space programme, the music, new technology... We could do with some of that spirit now🤷‍♂️

@Fernie There were some radical feminists making a mark on the world at that time. The 60's had been very liberating and there was still a sense that a person could make something of themselves by their own endeavour and not because they knew the right people or had the best connections.

@TheConstantGardener I'm acutely aware of that since I was one of them...I know how optimistic we were and weren't...sometimes hopeful, then beaten down by the white man...it took quite a while for us to get a foothold...you have no clue
