Tell Me About Yours?

The Unforgettable Octopus

I had the worst when I left my ex....
On my first day in my apartment, I napped after unpacking boxes.

An octopus with his head was wrapping its appendages around me from my knees to my neck.
I can't breathe.
I thought it was real.

I woke up before I choked, lest I'd be dead from that nightmare.

I don't really dream too much but when I do, it's so vivid.

I'm not sure about the worst one but two days ago I dreamt that I was in a building that at first was my mom's house and there was something odd going on in the cellar. We heard weird sounds coming from the room with a gas heater, like hot steam going through pipes but I was told it's how it's supposed to be. My brother went to check it out and said that some stuff is evidently overheated there. Suddenly it wasn't our house anymore but some public building and there were more people around and we were maybe on the third floor in a formal looking corridor/hall, so further from the cellar. Now it was clear there was a fire somewhere below but nobody seemed to be doing anything about it. Few people were saying we should leave but nobody did. The odd thing was that there was no smoke, yet I felt heat and saw sparks between gaps of a wooden flooring when I ventured out to further parts of that hall where others didn't dare to go. I felt the urge to leave, get away from there and it was easy because there was some exit right on the floor we were on but since it was so easy, I thought that I could leave anytime so I didn't.

It left a strange feeling in me. That progression of events when you know something is in motion and it's wrong, yet you're not stopping it. The stage when something is overheating, you feel the heat, you hear strange sounds, maybe you see how metals turn red, then you see sparks and then you know there's fire somewhere over there. Especially that feeling of taking a look from another part of the room and it gets confirmed what you think is going on because you see bright orange sparks through gaps and realizing that it's just a matter of time before the floor falls in under your feet.

@1PrivateHannah I hate the dreams when I have no energy to run or walk and I have to keep grabbing whatever I can to pull myself forward. It's probably because body is aware it's paralyzed and it translates the motion like that in the dreams.

@CrazyMusicLover it could be sleep paralysis.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@1PrivateHannah It is but not the typical kind where you're aware of the space where you sleep or that you sleep at all.

When I was young I put a pad of paper and pencil next to my bed. My plan was to try to wake up and write down the “good ones”. What happened is I often thought I wrote it down but didn’t. The few times I did get something on the paper it was mostly illegible. I tried several times in my life to do that, but was never successful capturing one lucid moment.

@Thatsright Have you analyzed why it turned out like that?

@1PrivateHannah Yes. Maybe it wasn’t as good as I thought. Like my social media posts. Dammit. Now I’m sad. ;)

I had a dream where I was fending off several attackers. I swung into action...and tumbled out of bed and onto the floor
1PrivateHannah · 51-55, F
@JohnnyNoir at least the attackers gone for good!

@1PrivateHannah yeah, but my ass was bruised for no good reason

@JohnnyNoir awww....sorry to hear that. be careful next time when dreaming about attackers.

My dreams revolve around my bad childhood and the house I grew up in. It’s better when I don’t dream.
1PrivateHannah · 51-55, F
@anathemaJack I hear you. Negative flashbacks are saddening.

Every night I have awesome dreams and adventures. Unfortunately they fade too fast for me to remember. I have recurring dreams where I’m in a crowd but never get to where I’m going.

@4thdimensiondream awesome dreams are great!
