Is there a way to check from iPhone for live movement in satellite map since I’m looking for a friend missing?

There are ways to track movements with a smartphone. But I think it would have had to be enabled before they went missing. Parents use it with their children. But if they are truly missing, and not just from you, I think police can use technology this way. But if there is no missing person's report, and it's just a love gone wrong, I think you would be out of luck this way.
