Disappointed

I went searching in the desert for what I hoped would be the desert awash in colors. With the very wet winter and spring we have had this year, more rain than I have seen in over 20-25 yrs., I was hoping that a carpet of mixed blues, yellows, oranges, purples reds and green would be breathtaking, no such luck. I checked elevations from 1200 ft. to near 4,000 ft in elevation and from the creosote flats to mountainous transition zones. So disappointed at the lack of wildflower blooms. I have seen, many years ago where it is like the whole desert explodes with bright colors. I was only able to find a few small patches with just a few types of flowers.

And disappointed I wasn't able to arrange a trip to watch the total solar eclipse again this time. If you have a chance to view it in totality I would highly recommend it. It is truly a unique and spiritual experience.

Yeah, well, Paul Atreides, Carlos Castaneda, and Jesus all went searching in the desert, too. Not sure any of them found exactly what he was after, either.

moving post.

Its possible that Mother Earth gets weary of gifting us so much when she gets so little back from most....
You seem to be the exception though...
