I Have a Confession

I hate living around ghetto black people. I'm black, but I'm normal. I'm a decent person and I know how to behave. Most American blacks are ghetto-acting, trashy, irresponsible, dangerous, ignorant, lazy, and obnoxious, and I wish not to be associated with them. I'm looking for a better apartment so that I can live around working, sensible people. I can't wait to move.

This is bordering on self-hate. To say "Most American blacks are ghetto-acting, trashy, irresponsible, dangerous, ignorant, lazy, and obnoxious" is a stereotypical generalization and probably, in your experience, only applies to the few people in your neighborhood that you happen to come across in your daily life. You'll find loud and ignorant individuals of each ethnicity wherever you go. Don't put down your fellow people just because you met a handful of them that piss you off.

@amenforanthony Stereotypes exist for a reason. That reason is that the human brain is wired for pattern recognition. Like it or not, there is some truth to most stereotypes which is why we can't help but notice repeated patterns. It only becomes negative when we assume a stereotype is true for a particular individual, and act upon that assumption.
