I Have a Confession

Ahh... I want to get into MIT so badly... seriously. This nervousness is killing me. I submitted my application last week and now it's all up to what they see of me in my application :S With what my grades are and all, I do hope that they'll recognize my passion for math and the stuff I do in my spare time :S SO NERVOUS...

I went to MIT last year as a foreign student. Pretty cool. I took some programming, electronics and robotics classes. People are nice there, I enjoyed a lot. Teachers are very open and are always avaiable to answer your questions any time.

Well duh, it's MIT!!! "Pretty cool" is quiiiiiiiiiiite an understatement! YOU ARE SO LUCKY
HotPancakes96
Thanks ahah. You will see you will also follow your dreams. Just stay humble and work VERY hard. Being smart isnt enough. Good luck girl

Working very hard isn't enough either. Gotta invent something or otherwise do something cool. WHICH IS WHAT I'M GOING TO DO NOW THAT I HAVE THE RESOURCES! MIT, suck it. I'mma invent something that'll bring UF back into common knowledge. Well I mean... past Gatorade and whatnot. But not many people know that UF made Gatorade so... xD

Noo i am not saying that working hard is the ONLY thing that brings success ahah. It is a mix between intelligence, luck and hard work that takes to such. But one thing i learned was that everyone who aspires to be a great inventor should also be humble. No one knows everything. We should allow our knowledge to grow. We should have an open mind. We should allow other people's ideas to take part in our development as a scientist.

Another important thing is to be creative. I built a hand sized drone along with my colleagues as a final project and we were inspired by the way ladybugs fold their wings. This way we could preserve space and the final design wouldnt be so heavy and ugly.

By the way I am studying nanotech engineering. What about you?

I'm going to be an astrophysicist and mathematician. I am however a maker but I never had access to a makerspace. However, UF has makerspaces, so once I get my hand on a 3D printer and other makey-things, I'll make everything that has only remained on the drawing board at this point :D I'm an inventor at heart <3

When I was a student there, a long time ago, I thought the food was pretty good. Friends who visited from other schools raved about the food served at MIT. But that could have changed, of course. (when I ate at Wellesley or Boston University, I nearly puked -- the food was terrible.)

The food at UF really varies. I've only been on the campus a few times so far but at least I know I have choices come move in in a few weeks.

Do I get to see your statement of purpose? I just submitted my application....
