I can understand this. But I am bi and I personally (so do my gay friends) prefer to just call it marriage. Calling it "gay marriage" makes me feel that there is something different about love between gay people and straight people. Being bi, I think I would be able to tell if there was a difference. Marriage is all I call it unless it's about the debate on marriage between gay people vs straight people. The term is slightly offensive in my eyes.
