I Have a Confession
Warning: This is a more mild rant than others you may have read.
So here I am reading up on Maddox's list of things he finds despicable. And it is quite a list. If you're into satire and are able to see the humor in offensive material, his website is: maddox.xmission.com.

Anywho, back to me. this list which is updated every few weeks or so has on it a topic titled: "The real instructions for life." He goes on to say that he received a typical mass forwarding letter (this is the late 90's) that lists off all the things you must do to be happy, forward to 10 friends or die a fiery death. One of the items in the list goes: Dance as if no one's looking; sing as if no one's listening, work like you don't need the money; love as if you've never been hurt. Sounds good, right? WRONG. Okay, I'll dance like crazy because I do love self-ex<x>pression, I'll sing too and for the same reason. And I am quite in love with being in love. But what about item number three? Work like you don't need the money? If I didn't need the money, I wouldn't be working! And if, god forbid, I was working with a massive savings/checkings account under my belt, it would be very slow or very crappy or both. Either way, my heart would not be in it since I don't even need the money, so I wouldn't even care if I got fired.
Am I missing something here?
