have you ever felt 'shunned' by people in real life

what can one do when you face this? -

i have been to my local community centre years ago where the organisers invited me to a weekly social meet up/ gathering.....initially it was ok but i struggled to talk to people and just relax as i have severe anxiety related to ptsd and social anxiety...so i often never spoke until spoken to........but the last couple of times i attended this community centre i felt i was being shunned as i was sat at a table on my own...and the other people who went went to sit with each other at other tables....and i was sat alone, it was like no one wanted to talk to me......this knocked my confidence and i stopped going.

so i've had that experience....i live alone in a flat and get lonely quite a bit...i lost touch with the friends i had from the past...all i have for support now are my elderly parents who live far...........and if people have treated me this way before locally near me, what should i do?

what's the point of going to social activities locally if people have shunned me before?

Wish I had a good answer for you. Have you tried maybe looking into local support groups? Not sure if such a thing is offered, but maybe it levels the playing field a bit.
