Do me a favor and not ever join the PTA okay?

A few years ago we moved and I thought joining would be good to make sure my son was fitting in ok and that things were ok. I shouldn't have joined because the moment i walked in those doors and said hi those women hated me. I tried being nice, i tried to ignore the comments and i tried to fit in with that group. nobody invited my son or i to their little parties or gatherings, i got ignored when i tried to make a comment on something. if i did get put on a activity i got the smallest or worst jobs.i said cool i can bring snacks or cool i can help set up for the dance and i just got put on dumb ass get the soda duty or you can clean up. the next year i didnt rejoin because im not being part of no damn group that thinks im trash or thinks im dumb or thinks im not good enough. those hos can do whatever they want as long as my son gets treated good i dont give a shit. he's made friends and is doing good school wise and that's all i can ask for and want. he's going to middle school next year anyway so i wont have to deal with half those hos ever again anyways. maybe its different for you but if you are thinking about it just keep in mind you could deal with what i dealed with.

You will find social standings in everything. The larger the organization the bigger the hierarchy.

Even in the large corporations. It's just called corporate politics.

Same goes for even this site and all social media. There it's called networking. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Many just don't realize the dynamics of such frivolity.

Sometimes bargaining helps. Other times it doesn't.

Yet if you don't bargain you get walked all over and be forever the server.

Best to bargain with those you agree with. That's the beginning of a network branch. The bigger the branch though the harder it is for those on the bottom to be recognized.

A simple Union member simply doesn't get recognized by a corporate CEO. Nor does a single non union member.

Yet bargaining before doing sometimes actually works.
@DeWayfarer Much truth here. Since I had a frozen yogurt shop I simply bought "Banned books" banners encouraging students to join in "Banned books week" the kids took the banners and other literature addressing PTA's being book Nazi's, adult bullies. Several of the teachers allowed the kids to post the banners which helped raise more consciousness, in a matter of a couple of years (including voicing our objections at PTA meetings) we were able to return many great classics we once took for granted in our schools.
