I Am Against Abortion

It is not the fault of any child but the parents who fail to prevent their pregnancy and the rapists who cause lives to be created (as that seems to be the biggest argument for abortion).

@iamnikki: If the mother doesn't want to or can't keep the baby they can give it up for adoption. The baby does not have to know they are a product of rape.

@Mindy1976: I am pretty sure the story of where the child came from will come up as children usually find out some way or another that they were the product of rape and were given up. Also, think about it, put yourself in a rape survivors shoes. Would you want to go 9 months with people asking you, " where is the father?, are you getting married to him? where did you two meet? I didn't know you were in a relationship" ? I'm curious now as to what your story would be. It is so easy to say anything without imagining what it would be like to go through that experience.

@iamnikki: I'm not saying it would be horrific for the mother, and anyone in that situation has my deepest sympathies, but you wouldn't kill a baby after they are born so why would you kill them when they are in the womb? They are too often just seen as a 'bump', but that bump is a human being.

@iamnikki: I believe I would get through that for the life inside of me. I can't answer that because I'm not the product of rape, but everyone is different and killing a baby based on an assumption that they wouldn't be able to live with being the product of rape is unfair. Even if they struggled with it, many people go through awful things and some can cope with it and some can't.

@Mindy1976: I think choosing to bring a child into the world knowing they wont have a "normal" life is unfair. But anyway, thanks for the civilized disagreement. ☺
