More Americans identify as pro-choice now than at any time in the last 25 years

And the trend is moving in the right direction. Notice the recent spike right after the Dobbs decision.

It is going to be a very long time before the Sipreme Court reverses overturning Roe v Wade! Like maybe in 30 years.

@Aliveshock Both sides made the mistake of thinking it was a judicial issue, when in fact, it should be a legislative one. What we need is a constitutional amendment guaranteeing the right to abortion, or at the very least, a federal law legalizing it.
@Lila15
Which is why it became a judicial solution. Don’t you think that it could have been “solved” legislatively that it would have been accomplished before the 50 years it took in overturning?
There will need to be a huge overturn in the federal supreme court before anything is accomplished.

The Republicans were slow but they managed it!

@Aliveshock If the Democrats get the trifecta again, they should abolish the filibuster and pass a law legalizing abortion nationwide. And it could happen in 2024 if the Republicans repeat their mistake in 2022 and put forward more bad candidates again. If they'd had "normal" candidates in PA and GA instead of people like Mehmet Oz and Herschel Walker, they'd probably have a majority in the Senate now.
@Lila15
The last time there was a “trifecta” was when Affordable Caee Act was passed.
That lost the House for Obama. There is always a price when a Law is pursued.

@Aliveshock It's normal for the party in the White House to lose seats in Congress in their first midterm. That would have happened if the ACA hadn't been passed, as voters would have punished the Democrats for failing to deliver.
@Lila15 Yes I am well aware of that.
I seriously don’t that it will happen legislatively nonetheless.

@Aliveshock If 2024 is a Democratic wave year, it definitely could happen.
@Lila15 60/40 vote it takes in the Senate to pass legislation and then the crooked Supreme Court still effects legislation later.
Lila15 · 22-25, F
@Aliveshock Yeah, there's no way the Democrats end up with 60 votes in 2024. The only way that happens is if there's some game-changing event where people abandon the Republican party.
