I’m surprised peole assumed the overturn of Roe v. Wade wasn’t an important issue for the midterm election

Given how there is plenty of support for Women’s reproductive rights. Kudos to Kentucky.

Depends upon the polls you read. It's a much lower priority issue with republican voters than it is with democrats.
