Abortion rights win big in midterms

In addition to approving abortion rights in the five states that had them on the ballot, a bunch of anti-abortion fanatics lost their races.

To remain relevant, the Republican party will have to decide if they want to continue to lose elections by catering to a shrinking anti-abortion minority.
I’m so happy for that. I don’t know what it’s going to take for the anti-choice folks to get that they can’t dictate women’s reproductive options without disenfranchising the entire female population. And most women won’t stand for that, even many who would never terminate a pregnancy themselves.
Yep, Kentucky's ballot measure to amend the Kentucky Constitution to outlaw abortion failed.

Similarly, back in August, Kansas tried a ballot measure that would have removed protections for abortion rights from the Kansas Constitution and given to the Legislature the right to further restrict or ban abortion. It failed by 18 percentage points, or 165,000 votes statewide.

These are two DEEP RED states that can't get anti abortion measures into their respective state constitutions. And, as time marches on, the number of elderly right-wing voters diminishes while the number of Gen-Z voters increases, thus shrinking the chances for further anti-abortion constitutional changes.
Northwest · M
States need to enshrine this into their constitutions, just like California did. It will on the ballot next in WA and OR.
I just read this:
Tudor Dixon, the Republican nominee for governor in Michigan, said giving birth after rape is “healing” for a 14-year-old. She lost to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) by nearly 10 points.

Someone who would even say this (a woman, no less) really deserves to be locked up. Thank goodness Michigan knew better than to elect her.
