This is freaking nuts!

They're playing political games over the abortion on a 10 year old raped victim!

https://www.yahoo.com/news/doctor-gave-abortion-10-old-124852278.html

I mean how stupid does this have to get? You have a 10 year old that's been raped and instead of focusing on the evil rapist, you focus on the doctor that's trying to help the 10 year old raped victim get back to their normal life?

Man, this is TOO STUPID even for 'Murica standards!

Typical. 🙄 🙄 🙄

@Thinkerbell Raping a child should become a capital offense! The destruction to that child lasts long after the incident is forgotten by the world. A life is destroyed forever. Those who commit this crime deserve no mercy.
@Thinkerbell Because it’s all about the perp being here illegally.

Any outrage in conservative media over the doctor being doxxed and potentially charged by the Indiana DA? The rape exception won’t mean much if doctors are afraid to perform abortions for rape victims.

@LeopoldBloom

"The terminated pregnancy report, obtained by FOX59’s Angela Ganote, shows that Caitlin Bernard, an Indiana obstetrician-gynecologist, reported the abortion on July 2, two days after the abortion was performed and within the three days required for terminations to be reported to the Department of Child Service and the Indiana Department of Health. "

@Thinkerbell Yes, the DA backed off after it became clear that the doctor submitted her report within the required time frame. It still amounts to grandstanding on his part, but hey, he does have to shore up his anti-abortion bona-fides if he wants to run for Congress or Governor.

Still doesn't excuse doxxing the doctor and exposing her to potential violence from anti-abortion terrorists. That will have a chilling effect and might discourage other doctors from intervening in these cases.

The point I was making, Leo, is that a Fox affiliate candidly reported a fact that was embarrassing to the conservative party line.

I have generally found that Fox's journalism (not including its opinion commentators of course) is far less dishonest in that regard than, say, the NY Times.

For example, look at this Times article on Fuentes' arrest:

https://www.nytimes.com/2022/07/13/us/ohio-arrest-rape-abortion.html

They don't mention Fuentes name in the heading.
You have to read a couple of paragraphs into the story to find his name, and then about 90% of the article is about abortions, Roe v. Wade, Dr. Bernard and child rape in general.

Only buried toward the end of the article does the Times allow a single sentence that a spokesman for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said Mr. Fuentes was an "undocumented" immigrant.

Typical Times story. 🙄 🙄 🙄

@Thinkerbell For conservatives, the story was first "it's fake," and when that became impossible to maintain, it was all about "an illegal alien did it." For liberals, the story was always "a ten year old rape victim was forced to go to a different state to get an abortion." The main story was never about the perpetrator, nor should it have been. The only reason the Fuentes story was reported at all was because of its connection to the abortion denial. If the girl hadn't gotten pregnant, the story wouldn't have been reported anywhere.

If you think only liberals have a bias here, you're either willfully blind or don't consider conservative bias to be "real bias."

@LeopoldBloom

" If the girl hadn't gotten pregnant, the story wouldn't have been reported anywhere."

It certainly would not have been reported in the Times, or at most would have been relegated to page 50; reporting the rape of a 10-year-old girl by an illegal alien wouldn't have suited their agenda at all.

"If you think only liberals have a bias here..."

Read what I said: I have generally found Fox's journalism less dishonest than that of the NY Times, not that there was "no bias."

Here is another example of NY Times reporting (from before the Trump era) regarding Netanyahu's re-election in 2015:

"TEL AVIV — After a bruising campaign focused on his failings, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel won a clear victory in Tuesday’s elections and seemed all but certain to form a new government and serve a fourth term, though he offended many voters and alienated allies in the process."

https://www.nytimes.com/2015/03/18/world/middleeast/israel-election-netanyahu-herzog.html

No less than three negative editorial comments in the opening paragraph of a "news" story.
Yes, NY Times, we get it; Netanyahu is a louse and you are beside yourselves
that he won re-election. 😂 😂 😂
@Thinkerbell That's amazing, Fox set aside their typical partisan bias to be slightly less biased on one occasion. That's a great analysis of them being forced to backtrack after claiming that the original story was fabricated. The possibility that Fuentes was an illegal immigrant is irrelevant compared to the atrocity of a ten year old rape victim having to travel to another state to get an abortion. Ten states don't even allow abortion in rape cases at all - does that bother you? Because it should.

Fox News is a disgrace to journalism. And you should talk to Israelis instead of relying on outside reporting. A lot of Israelis think Netanyahu is a louse as well as a criminal.

@LeopoldBloom if your hero Bidet and his effluvia had any competence and kept the illegal wet out of the country NONE of this would've happened.

MASSIVE FAIL - YOU

"The possibility that Fuentes was an illegal immigrant is irrelevant compared to the atrocity of a ten year old rape victim having to travel to another state to get an abortion."

Irrelevant? If we would have had proper immigration enforcement, Fuentes wouldn't been in this country to rape his victim in the first place.
No Fuentes, no rape, no pregnancy, no having to go to another state. 🙄 🙄 🙄

"Ten states don't even allow abortion in rape cases at all - does that bother you?"

Of course that's crazy, and there will be public pressure brought in those states to make exceptions in such cases. Besides, I don't think even those states have laws against prescribing a morning after pill.

"By the way, I supported Sanders in 2016."

No surprise there, Leo. 😂 😂 😂

@SW-User Look, just because you worship Trump as the Second Coming of Christ doesn't mean I worship Biden. He was my next to last choice, only ahead of that homophobic cult member Tulsi Gabbard. You probably liked her; most middle-aged conservative men do, because she looks good in a bathing suit. Who cares if she's in the pocket of some guy who broke off from the Hare Krishnas.
@Thinkerbell Of course you have to make it all about Fuentes' alleged immigration status to draw attention from the real atrocity - a ten year old rape victim couldn't get an abortion in her home state.

So what's your solution to illegal immigration? Round 'em all up and deport 'em, due process be damned? How come Twitler didn't take care of that; he had four years.

@Thinkerbell @SW-User sorry if I ruined your fun, but just FYI I blocked Mr. Bloom here... I just like breaks from politics at times, and I don't think he ever stops. Anyways, he got the last words before he was blocked. So it should all be good 👍

@Viper I've thought of it but I just can't resist a trainwreck.

@SW-User yeah, my issue is that I'm not sure some people ever unwind lol

But enjoy your trainwreck :D

@LeopoldBloom

"So what's your solution to illegal immigration? Round 'em all up and deport 'em, due process be damned?"

Solution: Don't allow illegal border crossings in the first place, of course.
But Democrats have prevented effective border enforcement for many decades; they view illegals as future votes, and business interests like the cheap labor, so it isn't all the Democrats' fault.

"How come Twitler didn't take care of that; he had four years."

Because Democrats did their best to block Twitter at every turn.
And then of course, it got much worse when Plugs's handlers took over.
