If the mother is virtually certain to die by going full-term, then she at least has the right to make the choice for herself.

@alan20 that may have happened a lot in the past but it is unlikely to happen anymore. My question is still whether the unborn child has equal rights to life of the mother.
@Jesuscentreoflife Wrong. The U.S. has more maternal deaths than any other Western country at this point.

That is the USA. Which is also backwards in so many ways.
@Jesuscentreoflife Says you. But allowing women reproductive choice is not one of those ways.

@Jesuscentreoflife It happened in Ireland a few months ago where death was imminent for the mother who begged for her life to be saved but the doctors refused because under the law, virtually dictated by the Christian church, they'd have been committing murder. And she died. Nobody can tell me that's the mark of a civilised society.

One situation out of how many?
alan20 · M
@Jesuscentreoflife One is all it takes. You cannot defend interference and dictation by a Church with a hell of a lot more than one case of human abuse to its discredit.

So it was all right for Stalin, Hitler or Mao? If it weren’t for redemption then we’d all be in the bonfire 🔥 I know I grew up Catholic, they are not altogether my friends and they have done a shitload of damage to reputation of the faith of Jesus Christ but that will not stop me from believing in pro life. I wept for the woman who died but I also don’t think anyone can have an abortion any old time is the right thing either, as you obviously have gathered.
@Jesuscentreoflife Born and raised in the US 🇺🇸 for 58 years. And old enough to remember how many women and girls died before Roe v. Wade, 45 years ago. You have no clue what that was like.
