The know the consequences of their actions.
I don't beat them or anything but I'm not opposed to a good spanking if they deliberately cross a line and put themselves or anyone else in danger.
(One my oldest ran across the street and almost got her t by a car) he's never darted into the street like that before and it scared the shit out of all of us. I grabbed him, made sure he was safe and then I scolded him, told him why it was dangerous and we told him he would receive a spankinrg at a certain time for his actions.
He never did it again. He's 11 now, he tells me if he needs to cross the street and why and he asks me to observe sometimes. We live on the corner of a small street and a busy street, cars fly into our street sometimes off of the big street like if they were on a racing track.
