Why is it that men (usually... sometimes) get better with age

& we girls end up looking like a melted wellie?

It's so not fair.

hi Sonnet
My theory is that as men age the proportions of sex hormones change as they do in women. In men less testosterone and more oestrogen. So what you perceive as better is actually more feminine. The opposite occurs in women who gain more testosterone and loose oestrogen and so become masculinised. Female form is equated with beauty and male with power and so as humans age men become more beautiful and women more powerful.
Of course all such attributions as beauty are culturally determined.

Hi Loretta78
I am honoured you found it so. A very interesting book on the subject is The Female Brain by Louanne Brizendene MD. A very interesting question too!

@sogdianrock she right. That was a good comment. But it annoyed me a little too 😂

@sogdianrock A book about the female brain? Well, since my birth I've been told that women have no brain at all...

hi Loretta78
No indeed you have been misinformed. On the contrary the female brain is very interesting and complex. There is no book on the male brain though as that is not.
Best wishes
