Is having a baby really that painful?

I'd rather be hit with a slow Semi. 😂
@WhosThatChocolateGirl: I'm sorry. I meant after the baby is born. Do not sit up to eat. You'll be extremely sorry.
@WhosThatChocolateGirl: You welcome the shot. It's nothing.
@WhosThatChocolateGirl: The shot is called an Epidural.

@Babylon: What's epidural birth?
Kamawanai · 22-25, F
@KandiGhostcat: exactly what I'm searching right now..
Yeah, but there are things you can prepare yourself mentally and physically. The more cooing skills you have the better you can tolerate the pain. I used to be a birth and postpartum doula and have seen some pretty amazing feats of strength and endurance.

@ProdigalSummer: you mean the breathing techniques helps soothe and manage the pain?
@Kamawanai: someone who helps the mother before, during and after birth. They provide emotional and physical support but no medical care. I did everything from prenatal education to squeeze hips during birth to boiling water for birth tubs at home births to lactation support.
@WhosThatChocolateGirl: yes, that and things such as using a birthing tub, position changes and moving as much as possible and even self hypnosis.

It is mentally and physically the most grueling thing you will ever go through.

@LittleWolfKiller: actually these answers are terrifying 😅 I mean I already knew but having soooo many women constantly assure it is mortifying because I know one day its coming for me! 😂
Kamawanai · 22-25, F
@WhosThatChocolateGirl: EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!!!! 😢
@WhosThatChocolateGirl: It's not scary, just painful. The better shape you're in, the easier it is. Keep your weight down and it's less painful. Spinal block is the way to go. Some women just drop them out like nothing. They have them in the elevator. Very easily. Mostly, it's at least 8 hours of labor or up to 12. In the olden days women were stronger from hard work. They'd deliver then go right back out and work in the fields.

I've always wondered this myself... Human women seem to go through incredible pain, and yet other animals just pop children out like it's nothing.

Are we doing something wrong somehow?
CoCoPuffs · 26-30, F
@Quizzical lol it's the curse of Eve!

@TheCoolestCat: But you push the baby out. That's why someone has to hold the woman's hand.
KandiGhostcat · 22-25, F
It can be. especially if you aren't given the numbing stuff before you give birth. My sister Jennifer knows that one.

Far more painful
Mrsbetweenfatandfit · 26-30, F
I always like to tease with this joke when I read this question.
A man said to a woman that a man being kicked in his testicles is more painful than child birth. The woman laughed and said really why do you think that? He said well I have not heard a man ask to be kicked again but most women want to give birth again.
