(In the US). That teachers, nurses, paramedics, police officers and fire fighters can't get the Social Security they've earned; it's a serious rip off!
I would not be living in one room now, counting every penny, in my retirement if I had my Social Security money which I earned in 21 years of hard work. I could not have planned for this because they passed this law after I had established my 25 year teaching career.
Amend or rescind the Windfall Provision Act!!! This is a really bad law. It was supposed to keep corrupt, rich politicians from double dipping by taking two pensions, one from the feds, one from their home state, thus allowing them obscene retirement pensions. But the politicians have found ways to get around it and it quickly devolved into something that takes Social Security money away from some very useful citizens who do not get overpaid and shouldn't have to retire poor.
